Fancy Pigeons

This series started in my first ceramics class with a prompt to create a hand built ceramic sculpture to be raku fired. Pigeons had long been one of my favorite animals so i decided to create one for this assignment. I learned a lot about hand building and the firing process during this project so after I finished and had a piece I was not especially proud of, I was filled with the urge to make more. For This same classes final I decided to make a series of four more ceramic pigeons in order to explore more breeds as well as firing techniques. Three were raku fired, and one was fired in a wood kiln. While I am not a primarily three dimensional artist, I have loved this series and hope to expand it more in the future.
